The Pillar met on 7 October via Zoom.
Updates were given by the G21 CEO, Pillar Chair and Deputy Chair.
Presentation 1 – Leigh McCallum – Manager Connected Communities / Municipal Recovery Manager at City of Greater Geelong.
Leigh provided a detailed overview of the extensive Geelong Community and Relief activities that have been initiated as a result of COVID–19.
To date, the City has committed over $16 million to support Community recovery implementing various initiatives.
Presentation 2 – Northern Bay Our Place Program – Charlotte Kelberg and Tanya Kane.
Charlotte Kelberg, Partnership Manager (Northern Bay) and Tanya Kane, Community Facilitator presented a comprehensive overview on the history, developments and successes of OurPlace.
The Colman Foundation has pledged funding to support each of the 10 sites for 10 years, to deliver improved educational outcomes for the children and families of disadvantaged communities.

A call for the nomination of the Chair and Deputy Chair will soon be circulated. Both Jamie Mustard and Carley Brennan have indicated that they will be willing to continue in their respective rolls.
- Cr Stephen Hart informed members that depending on the result of the Council elections he may not be attending the next meeting. All members wished him well and a successful outcome.
