The 2020 G21 Stakeholder Forum is moving to a shorter on-line format due to COVID-19.
Watch the live-stream from the comfort of your home or office on Friday 4 December from 9.30am to 11.30am.
The forum is free-of-charge, acknowledging a very tough year!
Keynote speaker is international journalist and author Stan Grant who will talk on indigenous affairs and the broader political and social landscape. Stan’s presentation is sponsored by Urbis.
Wadawurrung woman and traditional owner Corrina Eccles will continue the indigenous theme, telling us about the Wadawurrung Aboriginal Corporation’s local Healthy Country Plan.
A Mission Fit G21: Urbis presentation will explore the future competitiveness of the G21 Region, highlighting its strengths and recommending actions to advance its leadership position as a gateway region. Mission Fit G21 will be presented by Urbis’ Director of Future State, Kate Meyrick.
As in previous years the forum will include a panel discussion, this year consisting of Deakin University Vice Chancellor Prof Iain Martin, Victorian Industry Tourism Council CEO Felicia Mariani and Geelong Arts Centre CEO Joel McGuinness discussing the impact of COVID-19 on their industries and how they see their recovery. The panel will also take your questions.
Past forums have showcased significant economic development proposals for the region. This year you will learn about the $350 million CORA elite sports training and tourism complex proposed for Modewarre, south west of Geelong.
As it will be the last G21 forum as CEO for Elaine Carbines, she will not only report on the year and update you on G21’s projects, Elaine will reflect on her 10 years at the helm of G21.
This year’s forum Master of Ceremonies will be Dr Geoff Russell.
