In late 2018 a community consultation group formed from members of the Vegetable and Water/Sugar Sweetened Beverage working groups, which consisted of partners from Bellarine Community Health, Barwon Health and Golden Plains Shire Council and supported by the G21 Health and Wellbeing Pillar.
They had a shared action to ‘build an understanding of the barriers and enablers of vegetables, water and sugar sweetened beverages consumption in families with children who live in the G21 region’ via a coordinated approach under the Healthier Eating and Active Living priority. This was vital to address the lack of regional level data available.
A two phase consultation approach was used to collect data between August and November 2018. Consultations with stakeholders commenced the process which was followed by consultations with families and children.
Infographics developed by Bellarine Community Health and Barwon Health summarising results relevant to their specific consulted communities as well as the full report is available here.
